Rock'n Shaolin - The Legend of the Seven Paladins was developed by Taiwanese developer Accend and released in 1994.

In short, Accend, Inc. were in contact with Apogee to license use of Ken Silverman's Build Engine but a contract was never signed. For years, it was believed to have only had a demo made but turns out the game was finished and saw a release in South Korea.

By technicality, this almost official bootleg is the first commercial game to use the Build Engine... and it shows. Playing in DOSBox results in either a glitch or terrible game design where enemies fire projectiles far too rapidly to deal with. Imagine playing Doom on Nightmare at 2x or 3x normal speed for some idea of how utterly broken the difficulty is.

The game is playable in BuildGDX, a Java collection of source ports/recreations for Build Engine games.

The screens shown on this page with character portraits acts as a character select - pick a character by walking up to a portrait and pressing the "Use" key, then the red door will open and you can proceed to play the game.
